Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States strongly condemned what he described as continuing Iranian attacks against Arab states, calling them a “grave strategic miscalculation.”
In a statement issued from the League’s headquarters, Aboul Gheit said the attacks by Iran constitute a flagrant violation of international law and the principles of good neighborliness, warning they are deepening an unprecedented rift between Iran and its Arab neighbors.
He stressed that while no one underestimates the hardships Iran faces, there can be no justification for targeting neighboring Arab countries or attempting to draw them into a broader conflict.
Aboul Gheit warned that the ongoing confrontation is extremely dangerous and urged Iran to immediately halt its attacks and rectify the situation with the affected states before it is too late.
