Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit inaugurated the Arab-Indian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in New Delhi, marking a significant step in strengthening bilateral economic ties.
Aboul Gheit, on an official visit for the Arab-Indian Cooperation Forum, emphasized that the chamber reflects centuries of trade and cultural exchange. He noted that current global geopolitical volatility necessitates broader partnerships and diversified supply chains to mitigate international instability.
The ceremony, attended by Indian Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh and various diplomats, concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the new chamber and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The agreement aims to boost mutual investments and cooperation in energy, technology, and food security. Aboul Gheit expressed confidence that the initiative will particularly support small and medium-sized enterprises and foster future strategic partnerships.
