Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, held a telephone conversation on the morning of 27 June with Abdullatif Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, during which he condemned in the strongest terms the treacherous Iranian attacks carried out at dawn using drones against the Kingdom of Bahrain, targeting vital facilities and civilian infrastructure.
During the conversation, Mr. Aboul Gheit stressed that such attacks risk undermining ongoing initiatives aimed at containing the crisis and obstructing all efforts to achieve security and stability in the region.
He further expressed the League of Arab States' rejection of the threats issued by Tehran against the Gulf states, describing them as a continuation of an unacceptable and condemnable approach to managing relations with its Arab neighbours. He asserted that resorting to threats of violence would only serve to deepen the rift between Iran and the Arab states.
Gamal Roshdy, the official spokesperson for the Secretary-General, noted that Mr. Aboul Gheit reaffirmed his support for all measures undertaken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to strengthen its security and safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
