Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, strongly condemned what he described as a blatant Israeli attack on military infrastructure in southern Syria, warning that the strike represents a continued violation of Syrian sovereignty and a threat to regional stability.
In a statement issued Saturday, the Arab League said the attack contributes to the destabilization of security and civil peace in Syria and contravenes international law.
Official spokesman Gamal Roshdy said the repeated strikes risk dragging the broader region into further confrontations that could fuel ongoing conflicts and internal strife.
The spokesman also urged the United Nations Security Council to assume its responsibilities in halting the attacks and ensuring compliance with international agreements, including the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, while calling for Israel’s immediate withdrawal from territories it has recently entered.
