Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, strongly condemned the reprehensible Iranian attacks on electricity and water desalination facilities in the State of Kuwait.
Aboul Gheit reaffirmed that any Iranian military attack against any Arab state, regardless of its form or scale, is categorically rejected and condemned.
He stressed that Iran’s treacherous and unethical targeting of vital civilian infrastructure—including water networks, energy and electricity facilities, transport hubs, and residential areas, as well as the terrorising of civilians—constitutes a flagrant violation of established legal principles and a fully-fledged war crime under international humanitarian law, for which the Iranian regime will bear full responsibility, including compensation for damages.
The Secretary-General’s official spokesperson, Gamal Roshdy, conveyed Mr. Aboul Gheit’s renewed call for Iran to immediately comply in full with the provisions of Security Council Resolution 2817 and to cease its egregious attacks on Arab states.
