Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, expressed his strongest condemnation of the attack carried out against at least three strategic sites in Khartoum State, including Khartoum International Airport, using unmanned aerial vehicles.

The Secretary-General affirmed that the targeting of civilian facilities and vital infrastructure—this time launched from bases outside Sudanese territory—constitutes a dangerous escalation and a threat to regional peace and security, further exacerbating the humanitarian and security situation in Sudan.

Gamal Roshdy, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General, conveyed Mr. Aboul Gheit’s reaffirmation of the League of Arab States’ full support for Sudan in preserving its security, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, as well as in safeguarding its infrastructure and national institutions.

The Secretary-General also warned that such actions, regardless of their source, are aimed at expanding the scope of the conflict and undermining Arab, African, and international efforts to de-escalate tensions and create the conditions for an inclusive Sudanese-led civilian dialogue that preserves Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and meets the aspirations of its people for security, peace, and stability.

The Spokesperson called on all parties to refrain from any actions or positions that could hinder ongoing regional and international efforts to reach a comprehensive ceasefire, revive the Jeddah process, and launch an inclusive national civilian dialogue.
