Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, reiterated his condemnation, in the strongest terms, of the continuation of Iran's treacherous attacks carried out on the morning of 28 June against both the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait, using missiles and drones in a flagrant violation of their sovereignty, international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

Mr. Aboul Gheit stressed the imperative of an immediate cessation of all Iranian acts of aggression targeting the Gulf states and threatening regional security and stability. He held Iran fully responsible for its unlawful actions, which undermine regional and international diplomatic efforts to achieve peace in the region.

Gamal Roshdy, the official spokesperson for the Secretary-General, conveyed Mr. Aboul Gheit's reaffirmation of the League of Arab States' steadfast support for the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait, both their leaderships and peoples, and its full solidarity with the measures and actions they are undertaking to halt the Iranian attacks against them. He also called on all concerned parties to commit to de-escalation and to support efforts aimed at achieving calm as a step towards a sustainable ceasefire.
