Ahmed Aboul Gheit The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States strongly condemned a "blatant" Iranian missile and drone attack on Kuwait, calling it a flagrant violation of international law.
Aboul Gheit said the dawn attack, which occurred, violated the United Nations Charter and U.N. Security Council Resolution 2817, passed earlier this year on March 11.
Aboul Gheit warned that repeated Iranian hostilities against Kuwait clearly undermine regional de-escalation efforts. He held Tehran fully responsible for the consequences of its "illegal actions," which he said threaten international peace and security.
Jamal Rushdi, the official spokesperson for the secretary-general, said the Arab League stands in complete solidarity with Kuwait. He affirmed the organization's support for any measures Kuwait takes to protect its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity under international law, adding that Kuwait's stability is integral to broader Arab national security.
