Aboul Gheit Chairs Final Meeting of Arab Joint Action Coordination Committee

Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit chaired the 58th ordinary session of the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action on Wednesday in Jordan, marking his final participation in the body before leaving office at the end of his term.

The meeting, hosted by the Association of Arab Universities, reviewed the work of Arab specialized organizations and institutions and discussed priorities for regional cooperation.

According to Arab League spokesman Gamal Roshdy, Aboul Gheit expressed pride in the achievements made during his decade as secretary-general, highlighting close cooperation among Arab institutions that helped strengthen coordination and improve the effectiveness of joint Arab action.

The discussions focused on key challenges facing the region, including artificial intelligence, digital transformation and the growing threat of narcotics and their impact on public security and youth.

Aboul Gheit urged members to continue advancing Arab cooperation and praised the Association of Arab Universities for hosting the session and supporting higher education across the Arab world.
