Mohamed Abou El Enein affirmed that Gulf security is an integral part of Egypt’s national security, stressing Cairo’s firm rejection of any attacks on Gulf states and underscoring the country’s commitment to supporting regional stability.
His remarks came during the participation of the Egyptian delegation in the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Istanbul, where discussions focused on strengthening international parliamentary cooperation and addressing key regional challenges.
According to statements highlighted by media figure Mostafa Bakry, the Egyptian delegation, headed by Counselor Hisham Badawi, took part in a series of meetings with international parliamentary leaders, including the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, to discuss major regional and global developments.
Abou El Enein, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean, held intensive meetings with a number of parliamentary leaders from Arab and European countries, as well as with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. These discussions addressed the latest developments in the Middle East, particularly ongoing conflicts and the risks of further escalation.
Talks focused on peace efforts in the region, growing concerns over the expansion of conflicts, and the political, economic, and security repercussions of wars, especially in Gaza and Lebanon, in addition to reconstruction efforts.
Abou El Enein emphasized Egypt’s consistent position in rejecting any aggression against Gulf countries, noting that Gulf security is inseparable from Egypt’s national security. He also praised the role of the Egyptian state, under its leadership, in supporting stability and working toward conflict resolution.
