Abu El-Enein Foundation for Charity and Cultural Activities has won the 2026 Athar Award in the Social Empowerment category, recognizing more than four decades of community development work across Egypt.
The award was presented during the second edition of the Athar Awards, held under the theme “Impact of Good,” and sponsored by Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development in partnership with the National Alliance for Civil Development Work.
Organizers said the Abou El-Enein Foundation was honored for its ability to transform charitable assistance into sustainable development programs that support vulnerable families and promote social solidarity in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The foundation operates under the leadership of MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein, chairman of the board of directors, along with the supervision of deputy chairman Somaya Abou El-Enein.
The foundation’s model was praised for balancing direct aid with long-term empowerment initiatives that help families move from dependency toward economic productivity.
