The Abou El Enein Foundation for Charity and Cultural Work hosted a Ramadan iftar honoring women who have recovered from cancer, in a ceremony celebrating resilience and hope.

The event was attended by Nabila Makram along with foundation leaders and volunteers, highlighting efforts to support patients battling serious illnesses.

The initiative reflects the vision of Mohamed Abou El Enein, chairman of the foundation, whose programs focus on supporting Egyptians across key social sectors, particularly healthcare. The foundation’s work is also overseen by vice chairwoman Somaya Abou El Enein.

Guests were welcomed by Naglaa Mahmoud, director of the foundation, who outlined the organization’s growing humanitarian and medical initiatives.

Mahmoud said the foundation provides specialized nutritional meals for patients suffering from cancer and chronic diseases, as well as financial support for medications, diagnostic tests and treatment. In many cases, the organization also covers the costs of surgeries for patients unable to afford medical care.

The foundation additionally provides monthly financial assistance to families facing severe health challenges to help ensure a dignified standard of living.

Beyond direct patient support, the foundation contributes to strengthening Egypt’s healthcare system by helping fund hospital construction and equipping medical facilities with advanced technology.

It is among the major supporters of 57357 Children's Cancer Hospital, and has also contributed to institutions such as Baheya Foundation and the Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, which provide free medical treatment to thousands of patients.

Speaking at the event, Makram praised the initiative and said stories of recovery offer powerful inspiration to society, reflecting determination and hope in the face of illness.

During the gathering, the foundation honored several cancer survivors with certificates of recognition, celebrating their courage and resilience in a message emphasizing that hope can triumph over disease.
