Parliament Deputy Speaker Mohamed Abou El-Enein expressed on Wednesday, his sincere congratulations to Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and all Coptic Egyptians on Christmas.
"I wish you many happy returns, and our dear Egypt to be in safety and more progress, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi," Abou El-Enein posted on 'Facebook'.
"Egypt will always remain a homeland that embraces all sects... A homeland where the sound of adhan and church bells play a chant of tolerance and love among the sons of one nation," Parliament Deputy speaker added.
"God Almighty has endowed Egypt with a unique people. They will remain in bond, peace, and love until the Day of Judgment," he affirmed.
It is worth mentioning that, Coptic Orthodox Egyptians, who make up 90 percent of the country’s Christian population, celebrate Christmas on 7 January, according to the Julian Calendar.
