Foreign Minister (FM) Badr Abdelatty stated that the continued chaos in Sudan is unacceptable, emphasizing that there is an opportunity that must be seized to end the war.
In a press conference with the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy to Sudan Ramtane Lamamra, Abdelatty explained that the war in Sudan constitutes a systematic destruction of the Sudanese people's resources, stressing that any threat to Sudanese national security is a threat to Egyptian national security and cannot be tolerated.
Moreover, FM emphasized the necessity of reviving the political process in Sudan without any external interference or dictates, noting that Egypt is in contact with the United States (US) to reach understandings to end the war in Sudan.
For his part, Lamamra praised Egypt's role and the efforts of Egyptian diplomacy in de-escalating tensions and ending the crisis in Sudan.
He added that the Sudanese parties must prioritize wisdom and reach a solution to end the war.
