U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio met, on Wedneaday, with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty to discuss regional security and bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, they addressed the ceasefire with Iran and emphasized the importance of securing long-term peace in the Middle East.
For his part, Rubio also stressed the significance of ongoing U.S. and Egyptian efforts to achieve a humanitarian truce in Sudan.
Additionally, the two leaders discussed joint efforts to disarm Hamas, which aligns with the President’s 20-Point Plan for Gaza.
The meeting concluded with an exploration of ways to bolster the U.S.-Egypt economic and commercial relationship.
