Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed efforts to bridge gaps in the ongoing US-Iran negotiations during a phone call on Tuesday, as regional diplomacy intensifies to contain tensions and end the current conflict.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the two officials exchanged views on the latest developments in negotiations between the United States and Iran, focusing on ways to narrow differences and reach a consensus agreement that addresses the concerns of all parties involved.

During the call, the Qatari foreign minister briefed his Egyptian counterpart on recent mediation efforts aimed at securing a rapid agreement capable of ending the ongoing war and launching a broader negotiation process to address political, security and economic concerns.

The ministers agreed on the importance of intensifying diplomatic and political efforts during what they described as a sensitive stage in the negotiations, stressing that continued dialogue remains essential to resolving the current crisis and ending the conflict.

They also warned of the severe security and economic repercussions caused by the war over the past three months on both regional and international levels.

The two sides expressed hope that ongoing diplomatic initiatives would succeed in producing an agreement that ends the war and opens the door to a new phase of regional stability.

Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s position that any future agreement must take into account the security concerns of Gulf countries, describing this as a fundamental pillar for safeguarding Arab national security and preserving regional stability.
