Abdel Dayem: "Long Live Egypt, the Capital of Arabic Cinema"

Egypt's Minister of Culture Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem delivered a speech on the opening ceremony of the 42nd Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF). The minister hailed the occasion and said; "Long Live Egypt, the capital of Arabic cinema."

In her opening speech, the minister said, "Arts including Cinema is the main shelter of people during the hard days of the pandemic. So, creation becomes a necessity for survival."

The minister expressed that the state exerted much efforts in fighting the pandemic. As a result, it became one of the earliest countries which ended the quarantine and announced the return to daily life.

She sent greetings to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly who supported the organization of the major artistic events.

She cheerfully announced that Cairo Opera House theaters will start receiving the audience that is passionate about cinema.

On his part, CIFF President Mohamed Hefzy said, "Organizing the festival was determined by the government."

Hefzy stressed the role of the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, urging the audience to support various activities of the festival including Cairo Industry Days.
