Dr. Enas Abdel-Dayem, Minister of Culture, handed over the prizes of the fifth edition of the Golden Voice competition.
The event was organized by the Cultural Development Fund, headed by Dr. Fathy Abdel-Wahab, in Al Gomhourya Theater.
The ceremonies were attended by Dr. Magdy Saber, head of the Opera House and the jury members -who were honored by the Minister of Culture, namely :-Dr. Mustafa Mohamed -Chairman, the great musician Hany Shenouda, Dr. Iman Mustafa, Maestro Dr. Medhat Abdel Sami, and the artist Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim.
Abdel Dayem said that the successful previous editions of the Golden Voice competition confirmed the richness and fertility of Egypt.
Abdel Dayem indicated that the Ministry strives to discover, adopt singing talents in all parts of the country, invest the energies of youth and illustrate their artistic abilities to create a new generation of creative people who are able to restore the glories of the Egyptian art.
The minister praised the competitors who showed a distinguished artistic level, stressing that the competition has witnessed multiple participation by a group of promising people from different governorates. The competition embodies the continuous efforts to achieve cultural justice as one of the axes of sustainable development.
The results of the competition were as the following:-
- Muhammad Ahmed Ahmed (Port Said) won first prize.
- Asma Abdo Ahmed (Dakahlia ) won the second prize.
- Ali Sabry Muhammad (Minya) won the third prize.
- Haraji Ahmed (Luxor) won the fourth prize.
- Rahma Dhahi Abu al-Hamad (Qalyubia) won the fifth prize.
- Muhammad Tariq Mustafa (Alexandria) won the sixth prize.
- Islam Muhammad Farouk (Assiut) won the seventh prize.
- Abdullah Muhammad Labib (Cairo) won the eighth prize.
- Mazen Helmy al-Sayed (Giza) won the ninth prize.
- Farah al-Sayed Amr (Alexandria) won the tenth prize.
- Certificates of distinguished participation were given to:
Ibrahim Mohamed Ismail (North Sinai),
Dina Saher Lotfi (Giza),
Ahmed Subhi Ahmed (Beheira),
Mustafa Hanafi Salah (Alexandria),
Ahmed Mohamed Saad (Giza).
It is worth noting that the ceremony included presented a group of songs from the beautiful valuable art, performed by the young participants.
Furthermore, the first phase of the competition was held last February, and the second phase was held via the Internet, in which the numbers of qualifiers talents reached 49 out of 120 from the governorates of: North Sinai, Assiut, Minya, Luxor, Menoufia, Damietta, Gharbia, Beheira, Damietta, Dakahlia, Qalyoubia, Cairo and Giza.
Participants from the border governorates and southern Upper Egypt were exempted from paying subscription fees, and during the third phase Dr. Iman Mostafa, professor of singing at the Conservatory, and artist Dr. Mustafa Najdi began to train fifteen new talents.
They had passed the tests of the final stage of the competition. Dr. Mostafa will identify the first ten positions, as the Cultural Development Fund offers the winners scholarships at the House of Arab Singing in addition to giving the first positions prizes.
