On Tuesday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdel Atty and his Cypriot counterpart, Konstantinos Kombosas, discussed the means of enhancing the bilateral ties between both countries through the continued coordination and consultation between the two friendly countries.
During the call, Abdel Atty hailed the distinguished Egyptian-Cypriot relations and the joint cooperation at various levels, expressing a desire to further develop these relations, especially in the fields of economic, commercial, and investment relations between the two countries.
He also underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation in enhancing the presence of Egyptian labour in Cyprus.
Furthermore, the Foreign Minister expressed Egypt's appreciation for Cyprus' supportive stance towards Egypt within the European Union institutions, including support for the second tranche of the European financial package to Egypt, worth 4 billion euros.
Both ministers also stressed the importance of continuing coordination and exchanging views on the current common-interest regional and international issues.
In addition, they emphasized the need to intensify the mutual efforts to support security and stability in the region.
