Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, received a phone call today from Olushegun Bakari, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Benin.
Abdel Ati expressed Egypt's keenness to enhance joint cooperation frameworks with Benin, especially in the fields of trade, investment, security, and energy.
He also affirmed Egypt's commitment to supporting development efforts in Benin by expanding the horizons of economic cooperation and exchanging technical expertise, pointing out to Egypt's readiness to provide its expertise in vital sectors such as construction, infrastructure, electricity and renewable energy, digitization, pharmaceutical manufacturing, mining, and agricultural processing.
For his part, the Benin Foreign Minister expressed his aspiration to visit Egypt as soon as possible. He stressed his country's keenness to benefit from Egyptian expertise in various fields, praising the role played by Egypt in supporting development and stability efforts in Africa. The two ministers also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common interest, and stressed the importance of continuous coordination in international forums to enhance stability in the African continent.
