Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Brahim Taha.

This came on the sidelines of the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over Nazism, hosted by the Russian capital, Moscow.

During the meeting held at his residence in Moscow, President Abbas briefed the OIC Secretary-General on the ongoing efforts to halt the aggression on Gaza and the genocide being carried out by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, actions that have led to the killing and injury of tens of thousands.

According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) on Friday, President Abbas stated, "Our top priority is to stop the aggression and ensure the urgent entry of humanitarian aid, food, water, medicine, and fuel, into the besieged Gaza Strip, along with a full Israeli withdrawal, so that the State of Palestine can resume its responsibilities in repatriating the displaced and beginning reconstruction."

He also reaffirmed his firm rejection of all calls for displacement, stressing, "We will not allow any violation of our people's rights, for which we have struggled over decades."
