The delegation of the first football team of Al-Ahly Club, headed by Dr. Mohamed Shawky, a member of the Board of Directors, recently left Cairo Airport, heading to the Congo. In preparation for facing Mazembe in the match scheduled for next Saturday in the semi-finals of the African Champions League.

Al-Ahly will play the first leg with Mazembe at 3 pm next Friday in Congo, while the return match will be held at Cairo International Stadium at 9 pm on Friday, April 26.

The team had performed its training this Wednesday afternoon at the Tartan Stadium in the club branch in Nasr City, after the end of the passive rest that the players received for 24 hours.

The technical staff, led by Marcel Kohler, was keen to hold the final training session on the tartan courts to get used to the sensitivity of the field before traveling to the Congo.

The technical director held a meeting with the players before the start of the training session, to talk about the next stage. Then the players went through a variety of physical exercises at the beginning of the group training sessions under the supervision of Andreas Andoya, the load planner.

Al-Ahly coach Marcel Koller accompanied 24 players on his trip to the Congo in preparation for facing Mazembe in the first leg of the African Champions League semi-final next Friday afternoon. The Al-Ahly list traveling to the Congo was as follows:

Goalkeepers: Mustafa Schubert, Hamza Alaa, Mustafa Makhlouf.

Defense: Rami Rabia, Mohamed Abdel Moneim, Ali Maaloul, Mahmoud Metwally, Khaled Abdel Fattah, Karim Al-Dabis, Mohamed Hani.

Midfield: Amr Al-Soulia, Akram Tawfik, Ahmed Nabil Koka, Karim Nedved, Mohamed Magdy Afsha, Ahmed Abdel Qader, Percy Tau, Mohamed Al-Dawy Christo, Reda Selim, Taher Mohamed Taher, Karim Fouad.

Attack: Anthony Modest, Wissam Abu Ali, Mahmoud Kahraba.

Al-Ahly will miss Mohamed El-Shenawy, Yasser Ibrahim, Elio Dieng, Imam Ashour, Hussein El-Shahat, and Marwan Attia.
