'A Decent Life', Social Solidarity Ministry Sign Co-op Protocol

Minister of Social Solidarity Nivine El-Kabbag witnessed on Monday the signing of a cooperation protocol with the “A Decent Life" Foundation to fight against poverty, especially the neediest families in villages nationwide. 

The protocol was signed by Ayman Abdel Mawgoud, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Civil Work Affairs, on the part of the ministry, and by the A Decent Life Foundation’s Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees Aya Al-Qamari.'A Decent Life', Social Solidarity Ministry Sign Co-op Protocol

Kabbag said that the ministry is primarily concerned with providing social protection and economic empowerment for eligible citizens without discrimination, and always seeks to develop its services nationwide by coordinating efforts with the private sectors.

She stressed that the “A Decent Life" Foundation is a key partner of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, praising the institution's inclusion of young people concerned with national issues, as well as its high capacity for community communication in all villages where the initiative is implemented, in addition to the initiative's distinction in its successful media spread.'A Decent Life', Social Solidarity Ministry Sign Co-op Protocol

The minister added that the cooperation will include the formation of local teams to monitor achievements and report on any challenges that hinder work, measure the public opinion's response to the results of the initiative and mobilize the spirit of volunteerism to intensify community monitoring to preserve the gains that have been invested in. 

She noted also that the Ministry seeks to increase the database of families from 9.3 million to 15 million families.

On her part, Al-Qamari, said that the ‘A Decent Life’ Initiative is the largest development project in Egypt's modern history, targeting 58 million citizens.

“This protocol is an important step in a series of partnerships that the Foundation seeks to accomplish, to unify all the efforts of state institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations, volunteer youth and development partners inside and outside Egypt, where all these parties came together to make this development project successful,” she added. 

The signed protocol stipulates that work will be coordinated between the Ministry and the Foundation to activate the criteria for targeting priority villages and families, as well as the most effective interventions to implement the “Your Gift is Life” and “Education is Life” initiatives. It will also prepare awareness programs on the “Awareness” initiative launched by the Ministry of Social Solidarity and benefit from the efforts of rural pioneers and their experiences in this field and cooperation in organizing workshops, seminars and conferences and preparing guidebooks and publications.
