9.9 million licensed vehicles in Egypt

Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) released today 13 / 6 /2023 licensed vehicles Bulletin in 31/12/2022, the most important indicators are as follows:

• Total number of licensed vehicles in Republic governorates reached 9.9 million vehicles on 31-12-2022, compared to 10.9 million vehicles on 31-12- 2021, a decrease by 8.9 %.

•Cairo came at first ranked as number of vehicles reached

2.6 million vehicles by 25.8%, followed by Giza 1.3 million vehicles by 13.5 %, then Alexandria ranked third 722.3 thousand vehicles by 7.3%, north Sinai came at last ranked reached

38.7 thousand vehicles by 0.4 %of total vehicles in 31/12/2022.

•Total number of licensed cars reached 5.5 million cars by 54.9 % of total vehicles in 31/12/2022 and the largest number was for private cars (owned) that reached 5.1 million cars by 93.8%, followed by taxis 328.0 thousand cars by 6.0% and the lowest are caravan cars that reached 41 cars.

•Total number of licensed buses reached 173.9 thousand buses by 1.7% of total vehicles in 31/12/2022, and private bus came at first ranked 79.8 thousand buses by 45.9% of total buses , and public bus ranked last 13.8 thousand by 7.9 % of total buses.

•Total number of licensed trucks reached 1.3 million trucks by 13.1 % of total vehicles in 31/12/2021. As the total number of licensed transport vehicles reached 1.2 million, or 92.7% of the total number of cars and trailers, and the total number of licensed trailers reached 95.0 thousand, representing 7.3% of the total number of transport vehicles and trailers on 12/31/2022.
