The United States Department of Defense (Pentagon) has revealed the arrival of around 900 additional American troops in the Middle East to bolster defenses and protect American soldiers amid escalating attacks in the region.
Pentagon spokesperson Patrick Ryder, in statements reported by the American Free Channel on Thursday, stated that US forces were targeted at least 12 times in Iraq and four times in Syria during the past week alone.
Earlier, the Pentagon had announced the interception of two drones attempting to target a base used by US forces in Syria.
