The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has reported that nearly 90% of homes in Gaza have been destroyed, leaving hundreds of thousands without shelter.
Returning residents face entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble, struggling to find habitable spaces amid the widespread devastation.
Following a visit to Gaza, IOM Director General Amy Pope and UN Humanitarian Coordinator for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Muhannad Hadi, assessed the deteriorating conditions.
They described the humanitarian situation as dire, with families left exposed to freezing temperatures, lacking basic infrastructure, and cut off from essential services.
The IOM, in collaboration with the United Nations and humanitarian partners, is working to expand emergency shelter assistance to address the crisis.
