At least nine Syrian civilians were killed and several others injured in Israeli airstrikes targeting the Jubailiyah Dam area between Nawa and Tasil in western Daraa, according to local reports.
The attack has sparked widespread anger and protests, especially as Israeli forces advanced deeper into Syrian territory than ever before.
Local sources indicate that ten residents of Nawa lost their lives in the airstrikes carried out by Israeli fighter jets.
Additionally, armed residents and local fighters in western Daraa clashed with Israeli troops as they attempted to advance early Thursday morning in the Tasil and Jubailiyah Dam area.
Initial reports suggested that 11 people were killed and 27 others wounded in the fighting, but these figures have not been officially confirmed by medical or government sources.
The Sham TV network reported that young men were killed while resisting the Israeli incursion, with civil defense teams dispatched to retrieve additional bodies near Tasil.
Local sources later confirmed that Israeli forces withdrew after hours of engagement around Nawa and Jubailiyah Dam, retreating toward the Tel Ahmar base before moving back into the occupied Golan Heights.
The escalation has heightened tensions in southern Syria, with residents of Daraa voicing strong opposition to Israeli military actions in the region.
