Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram said the stranded Egyptians in Khartoum are on their way to Egypt after finalizing all logistic preparations with Aswan Governor Ashraf Attia and civil society organizations.
About 800 Egyptians, including students and citizens who registered at the Egyptian Embassy in Khartoum, moved on Monday morning from Sudan to their homeland, Makram noted, according to a statement released by the Emigration Ministry.
"All precautionary measures against the coronavirus were taken ahead of their arrival," the minister added.
Earlier, she briefed the Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on the stranded Egyptians' situation in Sudan.
