 8 European Leaders Call on  EU to Accept Ukraine's Membership Immediately

Eight presidents from the Groups of Eastern European and Baltic states demanded in an open letter  the European Union  (EU)  to accept immediately Ukraine's request for   membership of the bloc and  start negotiations for its formal joining.

"CNN", a US news network,  reported that the presidents of Estonia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia said in this open letter that they call on the member states of the European Union to provide the utmost support to Ukraine and to enable the institutions of the European Union to start immediate steps to grant Ukraine membership in the Union and start the negotiation process." ".

In this context, the leaders of the eight countries noted that "at this critical moment, they reaffirm their full solidarity with Ukraine and its people."

On Monday, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky signed an application to join the European Union, and after a call with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, called for the European Union to grant his country membership immediately.
