78th Golden Globe Nominations Revealed!

The 78th Golden Globe Awards ceremony is set to take place from both Los Angeles and New York on February 28.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will return as hosts of the event for the fourth time. .It will be hosted by Fey from NBC television in New York, while Poehler will co-host from the Beverly Hilton.

The changes prompted by the coronavirus outbreak have ruled out the usual seated dinner for A-list celebrities at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Beverly Hills.

Nominations for the Golden Globes, organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and celebrate the best in television and film, were announced Wednesday.

This year's nominees are a mix of old and new, featuring what we've been watching from home during the quarantine.

Netflix led in both television and film nominations, including the drama "Mank," which led with six nods." The Trial of the Chicago 7" followed with five nominations. In the television categories, Netflix's royal TV series "The Crown" led with six nominations, followed by the comedy TV series "Schitt's Creek," with five.

US actor Chadwick Boseman, who died last year at the age of 43 after a battle with colon cancer, received a posthumous nomination for his role in the Netflix film "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom".

TV pioneer Norman Lear will receive the Carol Burnett Award for his lifetime of achievement, and two-time Oscar winner and humanitarian Jane Fonda will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her outstanding contributions to the industry.

Three women have been nominated for best director at the awards for the first time. Regina King, Chloe Zhao, and Emerald Fennell are up for the prize, which had only previously nominated five women in the Golden Globes' 77-year history.
