The 75th edition of Cannes will be organized between May 17, and 28 in 2022, media agencies reported on Thursday.
This announcement came after a few days of concluding the 74th edition that took place in the presence of strict protective measures against COVID-19.
During the previous edition, French filmmaker Julia Ducournau became the second female director to win a Palme d’Or for her thriller “Titane” as the 74th Cannes Film Festival wrapped up on Saturday.
Cannes jury president Spike Lee announced the win in error early in the ceremony after a miscommunication.
“Titane” marks the Raw director’s follow-up to the 2016 shocker “Grave”, which revolved around a teenage vegetarian who develops a taste for human flesh.
Acclaimed director Jane Campion became the first woman to win the prestigious award for her 1993 movie “The Piano”, which she won in a tie with Chen Kaige and his “Farewell My Concubine”.
