At least seven people have gone missing and three others were injured due to heavy rains that caused mountain torrents and landslides in Gansu Province, northwest China, local authorities reported on Thursday.
According to the Chinese "Xinhua" agency, two towns in Xiahe County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture were subjected to landslides at around three o'clock in the morning on Thursday, as the accumulated rainfall in the two towns reached 50.2 mm and 31.8 mm, respectively.
Among the missing people were six construction workers, and the injured were taken to hospital, while reports indicate that their injuries were not serious.
The Chinese authorities mobilized rescuers to search for the missing people.
