The helicopter went down during a routine mission due to a technical malfunction, according to statements from the Qatari and Turkish defense ministries.
Those killed included four members of the Qatari military, one member of the joint Qatari-Turkish forces, and two technicians.
Authorities did not provide further details on the cause of the malfunction, but investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
