A 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Papua New Guinea’s northeast on Friday, prompting authorities to warn of a tsunami risk.
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake struck at 12:50 pm local time, noting that the epicenter was located at a depth of 85 km.
Earlier this week, A 5.0 magnitude earthquake hit northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, without any immediate reports of causalities.
The China Earthquake Networks Center said – in a statement– that The quake took place at 9:28 a.m. Monday Beijing Time, and its epicenter was monitored at a depth of 15 km in Hucheng County, Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous region.
