Under the high patronage of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, the 6th Session of the Islamic Conference of Labor Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) kicked off, today October 16th, 2025, in Doha, Qatar.

Held under the theme “Local Experiences, Global Achievements: Success Stories in the Islamic World,” the Conference brought together Labor Ministers from OIC Member States, as well as representatives from regional and international organizations, experts, academics, and civil society actors.

The event aims to promote the sharing of best practices in terms of employment policies, skills development, social protection, and integration in the labor market. It also serves as a strategic platform to strengthen cooperation among OIC member states and promote innovative solutions to common challenges in the world of labor.

In his opening address, delivered on his behalf by Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Kawesa Sengendo, H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, OIC Secretary-General, emphasized the importance of integrating education, training, and skills development to address employment challenges in OIC countries.
