The 6th Aswan International Women Film Festival (AIWFF) announced on Friday that it will start receiving the participating features on August 22.
The festival's board highlighted that filmmakers can submit their participation through its official website.
AIWFF's main competitions are two: short films, and long features, alongside a number of special screenings programs.
It is worthy to mention that the previous AIWFF kicked off on June 24 and it was concluded on June 29. Twelve films from 16 countries will participate in the competitions of the upcoming edition.
The participating films included four documentaries and one animated feature. Moreover, two Egyptian films were internationally premiered for the first time.
Furthermore, six films were premiered for the first time in Africa and the Middle East during the festival such as “Bad Roads” (Ukraine), “Aristocrats” (Japan), and “La Veronica” (Chile).
The themes of the participating films should revolve around women's issues, and women's rights in heritage. They also should represent women's talents as screenwriters, and filmmakers.
