A woman was stabbed Tuesday afternoon in the central Israeli town of Kfar Saba in what the police said they were treating as a possible terror attack.

The 62-year-old woman was in moderate-to-serious condition and received on-scene care before being transferred to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba, the Magen David Adom ambulance service said.

The attacker was shot and "neutralized," according to the Zaka emergency service. It was not immediately clear if he was still alive, or what his condition was.

Police said officers were on the scene and the nearby roads were cut off.

"The apparent stabbing attack occurred outside of the G Mall in Kfar Saba on Galgalei Haplada Road," medics said.

The attack came shortly after Israelis had marked Memorial Day with a two-minute siren in memory of fallen soldiers and terror victims.
