An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude hits eastern Papua New Guinea on Tuesday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.
The center added that the earthquake was 448 km north-northwest of the capital, Port Moresby, and at a depth of approximately 200 km.

The total death toll, including those who died in Syria, has risen to more than 54,000, according to Reuters.
