The Pakistani army announced today (Saturday) that six of its soldiers were killed in addition to 22 militants during three separate confrontations in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, located in the northwest of the country.
The Pakistani Army Public Relations Department reported - according to the Pakistani Geo News channel in its English version - that the three confrontations broke out in different areas.
Pakistan has witnessed a noticeable increase in armed attacks since the Taliban movement returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021. Most attacks are reported in the Pakistani border provinces, most notably Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
