At least six people were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a Hezbollah-affiliated ambulance center in Beirut late Wednesday night.
This marks the closest Israeli strike to the Lebanese capital's center since the escalation of hostilities began.
According to sources close to Hezbollah, the airstrike hit an Islamic Health Society facility operated by Hezbollah in the Bashoura district of Beirut.
A representative from the Islamic Health Society confirmed that the attack directly targeted the civil defense center affiliated with the organization, leaving several team members dead or injured.
Lebanon's Ministry of Health reported that six individuals were killed, and seven others were wounded in the airstrike. The affected facility was located in a densely populated residential area on the outskirts of Beirut's commercial center, near the Lebanese Prime Minister's office.
The strike came shortly after fierce clashes in southern Lebanon between Israeli soldiers and Hezbollah fighters.
According to the Israeli army, the skirmishes resulted in the deaths of eight Israeli soldiers and injuries to others.
Reports from local correspondents indicate that Israel launched a series of powerful airstrikes in the early hours of Thursday, hitting Beirut's southern suburbs.
These strikes led to widespread power outages across the affected areas. The strikes targeted neighborhoods such as Haret Hreik, Bir Al-Abed, and Kafaat.
While Israeli airstrikes continue to hit densely populated civilian areas, the Israeli military issued delayed evacuation warnings to residents in several buildings in the southern suburbs, including Haret Hreik and Bourj al-Barajneh.
Lebanese authorities have reported that since the escalation began on October 8, the death toll in Lebanon has risen to 1,928, with over 9,290 people injured as a result of Israeli airstrikes and military actions.
