Thailand's Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department announced that six people were killed due to floods and landslides caused by heavy rains associated with Tropical Storm Wipha, which struck the country last month.
The department added, according to Channel News Asia's Saturday edition, that more than 230,000 people across Thailand have been affected by the floods.
It noted that heavy rains inundated 12 provinces, mostly in the north and center of the country.
The department stressed that it is closely monitoring the effects of Storm Wipha and is coordinating with the affected provinces to assist citizens there.
