At least six people were injured in a knife attack at Paris’ Gare Du Nord railway station, early Wednesday.
The train station is one of the French capital's major railway hubs.
French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said that a man started attacking people at 6:42 am (local time) and was neutralized later.
The attacker was disarmed by free police officers who were going home after ending their working hours, and by border police, Darmanin added in a press conference.
During the attack, several police officers opened fire, alongside a security agent working for the rail operator.
Some shots were fired and hit the attacker who was left injured.
The news was detailed more by the spokesman for the Paris Prosecutor’s Office.
He confirmed that six people were injured, adding that a member of the French border police was among the injured.
Moreover, One of the injured is in critical condition, alongside the suspect.
Until now, the motive for the knife attack is unknown.
