A fire at a restaurant in the city of Most, located around 70 kilometers northwest of Prague, Czech Republic, claimed six lives and left eight others injured.
Emergency services reported that the blaze, which occurred on Saturday night, spread rapidly after a gas-powered heater fell over, leading to the tragedy.
The fire began at 10:17 PM GMT and was brought under control by midnight. Despite the prompt response, six people lost their lives.
Among the eight injured, six suffered severe injuries, with victims taken to hospitals in Prague, Most, and Ústí nad Labem.
Around 30 people were evacuated from the restaurant and a neighboring residential building as firefighters worked to contain the flames.
