Director of Chabrawishi perfume factory, which produces "555 Cologne" Khaled Dardari said that the factory has the capacity to cover all the needs of Egyptians, amid the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Dardari added to El-Maal newspaper that the factory is constantly working to raise its production capacity, without adding prices, according to the instructions of the Ministry of Supply.

"The demand has increased during the last period on the 555 cologne as it contains high concentrations of alcohol used for disinfection and killing of viruses," Dardari pointed out.

He emphasized that production operations and the percentage of alcohol concentration are carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Health, and are in conformity with the proper standards.

Dardari said that the factory produces the finest perfumes worldwide and is exported to all countries with great welcome and acceptance.

The factory manager stressed that despite the high demand for the product, prices were not raised, starting from 20 pounds according to the quality of the product.

He revealed that the production capacity of the alcohol plant, which is used to produce cologne, reaches 80 million tons annually, capable of meeting all market needs of all kinds besides exporting, yet, 'all needs will be directed to the local market' upon the Ministry of Trade and Industry directives.

On his part, Head of the Sugar Company for Integrated Industries Mohamed Abdel-Rehim Hussein said that the company's products will be available to all consumers in an affordable price at 38 pounds for ration card holders.

Abdel-Rahim said that 10 thousand packages will be pumped into branches in order to fill the shortage of rubbing alcohol in the markets.

He added that ethyl hydro-alcoholic will also be offered to help sterilize hospitals and workplaces.

It is note worthy that 555 Cologne is a perfume by Chabrawichi for both men, released in 1920. The production was apparently discontinued as luxury perfumes from Paris swiped the Egyptian market in late 70s.
