CAIRO, Feb. 25 (SEE) – More than 550 foreign correspondents have been covering the LAS-EU Summit, taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, in addition to hundreds of local reporters and journalists, according to European Union Ambassador to Egypt.

Ivan Surkos, the EU's ambassador in Cairo, revealed in a tweet posted on Monday that the summit is being hugely covered by international media means.

Surkos's tweet reflected how the European diplomat is interested in monitoring scenes occurring on the sidelines of the summit.

The final session is scheduled to take place on Monday, followed by a press conference.

The Arab-European Summit was inaugurated on Sunday under the motto of "Investing in Stability."

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is the summit's chairman, along with European Council Chairman Donald Tusk.

This is the first ever platform that brings together the Arab and European heads of state and government to tackle the pressing issues, atop of which terrorism, organized crime and illegal immigration.

Chairman of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs (ECFA) Ambassador Munir Zahran told MENA that the summit represents a great opportunity for enhancing the Arab-European cooperation and dialogue, where they will discuss problems of mutual concern and exchange views on various regional and international issues.
