A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 struck Cuba on Sunday, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
The centre initially reported the quake at magnitude 5.9 before revising it down to 5.5. The earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 15 kilometers.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property or infrastructure, authorities said, as assessments continued.
Cuba and the wider Caribbean region are seismically active, and officials are monitoring the situation for any potential aftershocks.
