Approximately 50,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Monday evening. The Jerusalem Governorate stated in a press release carried by the Palestinian News Agency WAFA that "50,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, despite the restrictions and strict measures imposed by the Israeli occupation forces on the entry of worshippers."
It is worth noting that the occupation forces have intensified their military presence in and around Jerusalem, and at the gates of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, to prevent worshippers from accessing it. In recent days, they have also issued orders barring more than 300 Jerusalemites from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan.
