A 5-year-old girl died when an Italian Air Force plane crashed while preparing for test flights at a military base in Turin.
The Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported that the plane crashed and collided with a car in which a family of four was traveling, killing a five-year-old girl from burns. Her nine-year-old brother was also injured and he and his parents were taken to the hospital.
The footage shows that the pilot was able to jump from the plane, which was rapidly losing altitude, opened his parachute at a low altitude, and was taken to the hospital. According to the newspaper, nothing is known about the pilot’s condition yet.
La Repubblica also indicated that the accident occurred during a training flight before an air show scheduled for Sunday.
