On Sunday, 5 Nigerian soldiers were killed in a terrorist attack and 35 civilians were kidnapped in another attack, according to military sources.

The sources said that the attack was carried out by terrorists linked to the ISIS terrorist organization.

The sources pointed out that the military convoy was attacked in the northeastern state of Borno.

They pointed out that the state itself was attacked by gunmen who kidnapped 35 people and killed a woman.

On Saturday, 3 people were killed in a suicide bombing in northeastern Nigeria.

Nigerian security and humanitarian sources stated that the attack was carried out by a teenage suicide bomber in the northeast of the country.

Recently, gunmen attacked a high school in the state of Katsina, northern Nigeria, according to local police, and they kidnapped students intending to obtain a ransom.

In a statement, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari condemned this attack and ordered security in schools to be strengthened, and urged security forces to arrest the militants.

Armed gangs have been planting terror for years in rural areas of central and northern Nigeria, stealing cattle and kidnapping for ransom.

In August, gunmen kidnapped a teacher and several of her students from the middle of the classroom in neighbouring Kaduna State. The hostages were later released without revealing whether a ransom was paid.
