Five persons were killed in an airstrike that hit the Ukrainian TV Tower that stands in the heart of Kyiv, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday.

The ministry added that the equipment of the podcasting and tv streaming have been knocked out. Ukraine's Interior Ministry continued that "channels won't work for a while."

Ukrainian officials released footage of the strike casualties as the Russian forces are seeking to enter the city.

Ukrainian Volodymyr Zelensky said: “To the world: what is the point of saying 'never again' for 80 years, if the world stays silent when a bomb drops on the same site of Babi Yar."

Earlier, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken denounced reports of Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian cities and mounting deaths of civilians.

This came during a phone call between Blinken and his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba, according to the US Department of State.

On his part, Blinken affirmed that the US with its allies and partners are united and determined to stand with Ukraine and hold the Russian government accountable for its war of choice.
